Sciatica

Up to 40% of the US population will experience pain radiating down the leg in their lifetime. This condition is referred to as sciatica. The most common cause of sciatic pain is a herniated disc or degeneration of the spine. Both young and senior populations can have sciatica.

The sciatic nerve is the largest and longest nerve in the body.. Sciatica is often accompanied by numbness, tingling, and/or weakness. The New England Journal of Medicine reported up to 85% of the sciatic pain cases are associated with disk problems.

Surgery is often used to help those dealing with sciatica. It is very important for people to know that a non-surgical solution exist. We have used disc decompression therapy along with chiropractic care for close to 20 years with tremendous success.

Decompression therapy is a computerized, gentle stretch of the spine that allows the bulging disc to return to its proper position, and receive the nutrition it needs to heal. Most of our patients feel significantly better in just a few visits. Contact Dr. Martin at Spine Pros Chiropractic in Buford to see if you’re a good candidate for care.
